The Bridge at Owl Creek Group paragraph
In the third part of the story written by Ambrose Bierce the author describes Peyton Farquahar's fall from the bridge and his supposed escape from the federal soldiers was actually a dream. The point at which we suspected the story to be a dream was represented when he found a road which led home in the right direction. The language suggests to us that the escape was not real because there were no signs of life. That was suggested when the author stated there were no signs of life.We as a group identified that the verb tense was present tense. Specifically when he reached for his wife and felt a stunning blow on the back of his neck and when a person feels something it is clearly the present.
